Under the leadership of Bishop Charles Brown, Full Gospel Church of God in Christ proclaims and demonstrates ministry for the whole man. A New Orleans native, Bishop Brown entered the ministry at the tender age of four, and has preached consistently for the past four decades. Along the way, he has birthed into the gospel many sons who now pastor thriving ministries.
Bishop Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at New Orleans’ Loyola University in 1975, a Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans’ Baptist Theological Seminary in 1979, an honorary degree from Crenshaw Christian School of Ministry in Los Angeles in 1988; and enrolled in a doctor of ministry program at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa in 1987.
As founder of Full Gospel Church, Bishop Brown has shown himself to be a knowledgeable, skillful, and a gifted leader, instituting programs designed to display the love, acceptance, care, compassion, support, and the forgiveness that characterizes our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Bible states in First Thessalonians 5:22, that man is a spirit, has a soul, and lives in a body. The church strives to meet the total needs of man, spiritually, physically, and psychologically. It stands ready to serve, love, and encourage members and others. Its primary goal is to encourage everyone to enter with an attitude of worship and depart with a challenge to serve.
Bishop Brown has preached to thousands at conferences and conventions, and led numerous seminars and leadership trainings. He has organized youth explosions across the country and many young people have been saved, delivered, filled with the Holy Spirit, and received the call of God for their lives in these meetings.
Because of his leadership, Full Gospel Church of God in Christ was named one of seventeen most excellent congregations in America in a book published by the University of North Carolina.
Bishop Brown has planted many seeds of faith and love in the lives of countless people during his years of service for the Lord. He lives by God's eternal principles of sowing and reaping, giving and receiving, knowing that this is God's way of meeting his needs, of blessing him and making him a blessing to others. His motto of encouragement during these years has been "If you be faithful to God, God will be faithful to you."
Bishop Brown's lovely wife, Connie, affectionately known as "Lady C", works alongside him in ministry as do their children, Charles II, his wife Marcia; Tiffany, and her husband Matthew Ratleff; daughter, Dawn, and son, Chad. All of them serve vital roles in the music and fine arts ministry. Bishop Brown presently has three grandsons, Donté Brown, Charles Brown, III, and Matthew Ratleff, Jr., and five granddaughters, Parris, Asia, Christina, Destiny and Rayjon. |
