Upland Christian Schools is a Pre Kindergarten through 12th grade Christian school founded in 1978 and supported by the Upland First Church of the Nazarene. Its purpose is to provide a distinctly Christian education for the families of the greater Upland and the Inland Empire. We currently have 825 students (Pre-School: 123, Elementary: 302, Junior High: 193, High School: 207) enrolled with a faculty and support staff of 82.
The mission of the Upland Christian Schools is to assist the family in the training and equipping of their children in fulfilling God’s purpose for their lives from a Christian World View. (Proverbs 22:6)
Upland Christian Schools is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International, CITA, and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Beliefs
Statement of Faith - We believe in the inspiration of the Bible, the Holy Trinity, the deity of Christ, Scripture alone as the Rule of faith and practice, salvation by grace alone through faith, the priesthood of all believers, and the need for entire sanctification. We also emphasize education, ordination of women, solidarity with the poor, daily holy living, and a global missionary vision.
Statement of Philosophy - Because God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1), we at Upland Christian Schools teach our students from a Biblical World View. This View is derived from the Holy Bible, God’s Word. All truth is God’s truth and all of the disciplines are taught in the light of this truth. Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, is our mentor and model. Being sinless in nature, and the demonstration *of all God intended for man to be, the example *of Jesus Christ’s life is our guide to life in abundance (John 10:10)
The scripture says that Jesus grew in Wisdom (intellect), Stature (physical), and in favor with God (spiritual), and man (social). Therefore, our educational goals encompass the social, intellectual, and physical development of our students through which runs the insistent thread of the spiritual aspect of their lives. It is our aim to teach all disciplines integrated with a Christian view of God and the world based on the authoritative Word of God, which was given by plenary inspiration.
We are challenged to promote high academic standards while helping the students to achieve skills in creative and critical thinking using the best-integrated curriculum available. The objective of our instructional program is to enable the student to pursue the post-secondary education of his/her choosing, whether in college, university or in vocational training areas.
Our aim socially is to provide a Christian perspective on the total worldview from which will come a balanced personality and a proper understanding and acceptance of a person’s role in life at home, at work, at play and at worship—all grounded in the Christian concept of Love.
