Dr. Juan Williams, Sr. serves in ministry in a full-time capacity. He was born December 23, 1955 in Los Angeles, California.
After High School Dr. Juan Williams was awarded a scholarship to attend East Los Angeles Junior College in Los Angeles, CA, where he played baseball on the All League Championship Team. He received All League Honors in baseball for two consecutive years in Junior College, and was named Athlete of the Year in baseball in 1976. His college baseball career continued at the University of California Riverside for two years, where he was a member of the National Championship Team in the 1976-77 seasons, a member of the Baseball Collegiate Hall of Fame, and was inducted into the Athletic Collegiate Hall of Fame at UC Riverside. After graduation, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from UC Riverside, Dr. Williams served as a Peace Officer for the California Youth Authority and received Peace Officer status on January 23, 1981. He eventually earned his Master's Degree in 1995, and earned his Doctorate Degree in 2001 at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, CA.
Dr. Williams has been operating in fulltime ministry since 1983. He served as an Assistant Pastor in a Riverside, California Foursquare Church. However, while vacationing on the beautiful island of Kauai, Hawaii in 1984, the Spirit of the Lord spoke to Dr. Juan Williams and told him that he had been chosen to be the under-shepherd of a new ministry. During the months that followed, God began to stir up and confirm His Word. In 1988, Dr. Juan Williams was empowered to answer God's calling to do a specific work in the Inland Empire. God gave Pastor Juan a vision to launch forth in ministry as a Pastor and Teacher committed to, "Setting Men Free Through the Knowledge of Jesus Christ!" (II Peter 1:3, St. John 8:36) Once this vision became clear, opposition immediately began to challenge what the Lord had called Pastor to do. Without financial backing or support, and in many cases even lacking an encouraging word, naturally the task seemed virtually impossible. In spite of these obstacles, by the power of God, the mission was launched. Pastor Juan, along with his family and a handful of faithful warriors took a giant step of faith and The Word of Life Ministry was birthed!
From 1981-1988, Dr. Williams was a member of Ministerial Alliances. Since 1984 until the present, Dr. Williams has been a member of FICWFM (Fellowship of Inner City Word of Faith Ministries). Presently, Dr. Williams ministers the Word as a guest speaker throughout the local community, across the United States and Internationally.
The Word of Life Ministry is continually reaching out to snatch souls from darkness into the Kingdom of God, and the greatest test of our faith came in the early hours of Tuesday morning, July 18, 2000 when our sanctuary was burned. Because of God's favor and our standing in faith, it was only a short period of time before our sanctuary was completely restored!
Our mission to "seek and save that, which was lost," flows directly from our ministry's vision of "Setting men free through the knowledge of Jesus Christ," and we are continually about God's work. Our ministry has literally touched hundreds of thousands of souls in the Inland Empire and throughout the world. Future evangelistic outreaches include trips to Brazil, Holland, London (Buffalo) New York, North Carolina, (Gary) Indiana, (New Orleans) Louisiana, Africa and points beyond.
God has given us the victory in every endeavor and we joyfully walk in victory, power and authority. We look forward with great anticipation to see what God has in store for us as we continue to minister the love of Jesus by reaching out that others may come to know the depth of God's love and the beauty of His provision in their personal lives. |
