River of Glory Church
Home River of Glory Church
"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me." -Galatians 2:20

In August of 1998, Pastor Randy Speed founded River of Glory Church when he led one hundred twenty people in worship at a Harvey Hotel in East Plano. Those one hundred twenty and Pastor Speed continued to build upon Jesus' foundation, establishing a church based on the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Within a year, the congregation overflowed the hotel's ballroom. River of Glory found a new home in an East Plano shopping center and spent year two emphasizing the vital need for prayer in our church, in our city and in our lives.

With a strong foundation and a strong body of believers established, River of Glory reached out to help others in year three. Thus began what has grown to 14 plus ministries, including ministry for troubled youth, hospital ministry for patients and their families, teen and children's ministries to guide the youth, and prophetic and prayer ministry for encouragement and spiritual support.

River of Glory reached out to the international community as well. To share God's Word and build His Kingdom, River of Glory took on the challenges of training pastors and teachers in Guatemala, Honduras, Congo and Uganda; sending missionaries to Mexico, India and Navajo Indian reservations in New Mexico; supporting and building an orphanage, school and training center in Kampala, Uganda. Closer to home, soul-winning teams flood the local community to spread the gospel to the next generation.

Since 1998 River of Glory has grown to over 150 families with a fellowship of more than 450 worshipers overflowing the current location. In October 2002, renovation began on a new building. This former Plano movie theatre will serve as River of Glory's new physical and spiritual epicenter beginning in November 2003.

Recognizing that we are dependent on the Holy Spirit, River of Glory strives to be a church of influence, a church whose heartfelt praise and worship is strong enough to touch heaven. We strive to be a church where doors are always open to receive those who seek God, a church where the body is unified. We aspire to be a church of such loving compassion that people are drawn from impossible situations toward hope and restoration. River of Glory is committed to raising, training, and equipping people to reap the end-time harvest.
