OUR PURPOSE:
The purpose of Calvary Bible Church is to reach all people with the love of Christ through worship, evangelism, discipleship, and service.
STATEMENT OF FAITH:
Where the Scriptures speak, we speak. Where the Scriptures are silent, we are silent. We believe the only and final authority for all matters of faith, doctrine and Christian behavior is the Bible, the inspired Word of God.
The focus of our faith centers upon Jesus Christ alone. We accept Him as God's only Son. We regard His death, burial and resurrection, and man's obedient response to such, as vital to salvation from sin.
We consider as historically accurate the biblical accounts of Christ's life and teachings. We view as our ultimate goal to be like Christ and to share in His purpose -- the reconciliation of mankind to God. We have no creed but Christ, no book or other authoritative literature except the Bible. In essential commands of the Bible, our plea is for unity. In non-essential matters of opinion, our plea is for the freedom to hold and share differences with due courtesy and discretion. In all things, our plea is for love. |
