What does it take to be saved? The Bible teaches that a Christian is a person
who has verbally confessed (said) that Jesus Christ is his or her personal
Savior and Lord, and believes that Jesus physically came to this world, died at
Calvary, rose from the dead after three days, and physically ascended to Heaven
and sat down at the right hand of God. That person is a Christian (See Romans
10:9-10). When you believe and confess that, you pass from spiritual death into
spiritual life.
It is when you personally receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord by
confessing (saying), and believing (accepting) that you receive Salvation.
Now is the best time to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. By doing
so, you become a Christian, or what is referred to as being “born again.” Just
pray the following prayer aloud.
"Dear God, I come to You with a humble heart and with gratitude for sending
Your Son Jesus Christ to take away my sin that I might have right-standing with
You. I accept Jesus now as my Savior and Lord, and I turn from my past life to
a renewed life in You through Him. Dear heavenly Father, I thank You now for
accepting me as Your child. You said in Your Word that if I confess with my
mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the
dead, I would be saved (Romans 10:9-10). I have just made this confession. I
believe Your Word. I believe that I am now saved, and I thank You for Your gift
of salvation, in Jesus' name. Amen."
If you made that confession, you are now a Christian. You are a new creature in
Christ Jesus. You have been set free from sin and its dominion. God has
forgotten your past sins. He does not remember them any more. We would love to
hear from you!
